What could be triggering my baby to be so pale?

A cold or other infection can often cause your baby or toddler to look a little pale or peaked. A less common cause may be anemia, or an iron shortage that develops a decrease in oxygen-carrying red cell. However, if it’s more of a blue tone or accompanied by other severe symptoms (problem breathing, seizures) go to the ER or your doctor right away.

What should I do to treat my baby’s paleness?

If she’s struggling with an infection (signs: she’s got a fever, she’s not consuming, she’s low on energy), it will normally deal with on its own, however offer her the usual TLC in addition to some acetaminophen or ibuprofen (ibuprofen just after six months of age).
